WAB Wins a 2025 International School Award
WAB Wins a 2025 International School Award
WAB is excited to announce that we have been awarded a 2025 International School Award out of over 200 applications worldwide by ISC Research, a global leader in intelligence on international education. This recognition celebrates our commitment to fostering international-mindedness and empowering students as active global citizens.
Through the evolution of our Global Citizenship Program, we have redefined what it means to be a global citizen at WAB, aligning our philosophy with real-world challenges. Our students engage with pressing issues, respect diverse perspectives, and take meaningful action in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The program supports students to take meaningful action locally and globally. Student-led projects, such as ProFarmer (supporting fair trade and sustainable agriculture), Acts for Elderly (improving the well-being of elderly and dementia patients), the Mingde Project (providing educational resources to a migrant school), the Sustainability Branch (reducing WAB's carbon footprint), and the Migrant School Foundation (mentoring migrant students in English and public speaking), demonstrate the program’s impact.
Our global citizenship program also embodies our commitment to I-DEAS (Inclusion through Diversity, Equity, Anti-racism, and Social Justice) through student-led clubs like Spectrum (LGBTQIA+ advocacy), Feminism Club (gender equality discussions), and Signs of Love (support for the hearing-impaired).
“WAB’s Global Citizenship Program brings to life our mission to ‘Connect, Inspire, Challenge: Make a Difference’ and it aims at developing competencies students will need in order to thrive in a challenging and interconnected world,” said Dr. Marta Medved Krajnovic, WAB’s Head of School.
She added: “This award acknowledges our efforts to make the understanding of local and global issues and developing local and global connections part of our students’ growth. It honors the collective efforts of our community to make a positive impact. We are proud of our students and we will continue to support them in developing the skills and passion to lead positive change in the world.”
