WAB Podcast | Flourishing Together, 2025–2026 Year-End Reflections 

In our final WAB Podcast episode of the 2025–2026 school year, we sat down with Head of School Dr. Marta Medved Krajnovic and Director of Innovation in Learning and Teaching Mr. Stephen Taylor to reflect on another year of learning, community, and action. We look back on standout moments such as the return of Intercultural Day, student buddy connections across divisions, and the many showcases of the process and products of student learning, from the Primary Years Programme Exhibition and Middle Years Programme Personal Projects to performing arts and neuroscience. 

Marta and Stephen look back on how WAB students are continuing to build competencies through real-world projects, partnerships with experts beyond the school, and growing opportunities in STEM, robotics, and Global Citizenship in Action. They also discuss how WAB’s Future Ready panels and research partnerships are helping students navigate a rapidly changing world, including the impact of AI and emerging career pathways. 

Cherished community traditions like Jazz & Chill, Identity Film Festival, Rock in the Park, Fun Fair, Community Picnic and Winter Market, are also highlighted as events that embody WAB’s spirit of belonging and China-global coherence. Both leaders reflect on what it means to be part of the WAB community as educators, as parents of WAB graduates, and as members of an international learning community in Beijing and what they hope WAB students carry with them when they leave. 

Looking ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, Marta and Stephen share their excitement in continuing to learn and partner with students, staff, parents, and the Board, as well as the renovation of the Elementary School learning spaces and continued growth in student agency and educational partnerships. Marta ends with a message of reassurance and optimism for returning and new students alike: rest well, enjoy the summer, and come back ready to “connect, inspire, challenge, and make a difference” together.
