Innovation Series: Future Ready Panel Series Launch

Innovation Series: Future Ready Panel Series Launch

It’s a Thursday afternoon at WAB’s Blu Theatre. The lights dim, and a quiet energy fills the room. On stage sit four voices: a WAB founder, a scientist researching dark matter, and two students whose innovations in AI and health tech are already making real impact. The audience leans in as they begin to explore a simple but powerful question: What does it mean to be an inspired and challenged learner in 2025 and beyond?

This is the launch of WAB’s Future Ready Panel Series, part of our ongoing Innovation Series exploring how WAB’s vision of learning comes to life in action. The multi-part series brings together WAB alumni, thought-leaders, and students to explore the domains of the Profiles of WAB Alumni model, from Inspired & Challenged Learners to Balanced & Reflective Inquirers. Each session connects WAB’s aspirations for future-ready learners with real-world stories of innovation, collaboration, and growth.

Through engaging conversations, the series reveals how the competencies that define WAB graduates translate into the world beyond school. It’s a bridge between learning and life, where students, educators, and alumni discover what it means to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

The series begins with Session 1: Inspired & Challenged Learners, facilitated by Stephen Taylor, Director of Innovation in Learning & Teaching. Together, panelists will explore how curiosity, perseverance, and a sense of purpose shape personal success and fuel lifelong learning.

Panelists include:

  • Sabina Brady – WAB Founder and trailblazer in corporate and nonprofit leadership in China.

  • Dr. Nan Li – Astrophysicist at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, researching dark matter, galaxy evolution, and AI4Astronomy.

  • Anna L. – WAB student innovator who developed a low-cost AI device for cardiovascular risk detection.

  • Claire X. – WAB student scientist and changemaker who designed a diagnostic tool to detect gynecological diseases through sanitary products.
