Celebrating New Beginnings at Community Picnic!

Celebrating New Beginnings at Community Picnic!

This past Saturday, the WAB campus was filled with more than 2200 students, parents, teachers, and staff for our annual Community Picnic. From games and food to the Roundabout Book Fair and Thrift Market, the morning was filled with smiles, reconnections, and new friendships. Families also had the chance to explore our newly renovated Elementary School learning spaces.

As Head of School, Dr. Marta Medved Krajnovic shared: "We give our parents the opportunity to dig deeper into learning at WAB, but also to dig deeper into the WAB community — our togetherness. Those moments develop joy, and the happier the parents, the happier the kids, and vice versa." It's why WAB opens each year with this gathering and closes it with Rock in the Park in May and why, as Mr. Stephen Taylor, Director of Innovation in Learning and Teaching, put it, " We want people to feel they belong here. This beautiful adventure of childhood is something we're all working through together."

Children play a balance game on a beam over a blue inflatable pool on a green field with other people and red buildings in the background.

None of it would be possible without our incredible community. A huge thank-you to our student organizers for the Thrift Market, the Roundabout team, our Chinese Link and Korean Link volunteers for the amazing food, our staff volunteers, and every family who joined us. Relive the best moments in our wrap-up video above and stay tuned for a full year of community events ahead!
