Global Citizenship

Global Citizenship Event at WAB

WAB Definition of Global Citizenship:

At WAB we believe that we are all global citizens and our decisions today impact future generations. A successful global citizen is aware of and seeks to understand pressing global issues, furthers social justice, respects and engages with diverse cultures and identities, lives in harmony with nature, and recognizes a responsibility to take action in local and global contexts.

Our Global Citizenship Program

Our program is dedicated to cultivating global citizens by providing students with opportunities to explore local and global connections, embrace multiple perspectives, communicate respectfully, and take action to promote social and environmental well-being aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Central to the program is the impact model, prompting students to consider their passions and the potential impact they can make. It encourages students to ask critical questions: How can I become more aware of the issues I care about? What am I able to do to address them or take action? And then what might the impact be?

Students get involved in global citizenship related activities in a range of ways, from whole school activities to student led clubs and projects in Middle and High School.
