#FOEN2019 was a truly immersive, global conference about dynamic change, delivered by a school going through dynamic change.
Our rallying call is an invitation to step outside the conventional box, envision environments where boundaries blur, walls move, and attitudes to learning and education evolve.
We all know education is changing. There is no one-size fits all solution. We understand why increased student and teacher agency is vital. NOW is the time to share the work you’ve been doing to improve school.
Educators around the world are embracing this opportunity to reimagine, redesign, and re-engineer school. These are interesting times because the future of education is emerging NOW and as we prime young people for a lifetime of curiosity.
In 2019, WAB pioneered the first Future of Education Now (FOEN) conference to prompt thinking and sharing of innovative approaches to education. The event brought together over 600 education professionals and thought leaders from 60+ countries, 100 schools and 74 speakers in 86 sessions. The event also gave students a platform to have a say in how they envision the future of learning.
Following the success of FOEN2019, WAB partnered with AAIE to host the Future of Education Now and Next (FOENN) conference online in 2021 during the pandemic to continue to provoke thinking about innovative learning models. That conference featured nine schools and their students who were leading the way in leveraging student voice, building a more ethical and equitable future, and using new technologies to enhance learning.
Each FOENN event to date has ignited important and powerful conversations about how to rethink and reshape the educational experience for students to prepare them for the future. We hope you join us for the FOENN23 sessions!
