The Future of School Libraries on The WAB Podcast

Libraries used to be synonymous with being quiet. This is no longer the case – nor are libraries merely physical spaces.

On today's episode of The WAB Podcast, our Middle and High School teacher-librarians discuss how libraries have become hybrid physical-virtual spaces and their evolution from places of quiet study to a headquarters for collaborative learning.

Find The WAB Podcast here, on Apple Podcasts, or simply search it on your favorite podcast platform to listen and subscribe.

Nadine and Jaye cover how the school librarian's role is evolving, how they guide students to do productive research, as well as how the contents of the WAB Library's online portal can help both parents and students. On the WAB Learns website platform, for example, the librarians and technology teams have put together resources for every unit and every class aimed at fostering conversations about big ideas rather than specific grades or assignments. Nadine and Jaye finish the conversation with a chat about the IB DP's Extended Essay and a few book recommendations.

New episodes of The WAB Podcast are published every Friday. morning, so you will have fresh stories about student learning and innovative education to enjoy over the weekend.
