2017-18: A Year of Action for FLoW21

Building on our FLoW21 (Future of Learning at WAB) work from last year, 2017-2018 is the second year in a five-year process — a year for taking action. In response to input from faculty, students and parents, we are concentrating a significant amount of our FLoW21 energy on three key actions – our "fiats".

  1. Professional development
All teams are tasked with creating professional development opportunities for their committees, working groups and individual actions.
  2. Research and data collection
Teams will be identifying research-based solutions to the challenges presented in the Targets. We will also be collecting and analyzing data with our community to study the impacts of the improvements we implement.
  3. FLoW21 learning experiences
All teachers will develop a learning experience for students that meets both IB requirements and FLoW21 Targets. The depth and extent of the FLoW21 learning experiences will vary depending on grade and subject, as well as teacher and student.

The first two years of FLoW21 are about building a strong foundation. What makes this year special is that we are activating plans from the first phase of our journey. Our work as a community is to learn from the actions we take this year with professional development, research and data, and learning experiences. We look forward to working with parents, students and faculty to make this year as productive as possible.
