WAB Counselor Elected President of International University Counseling Admissions Group

Congratulations to Michelle Chow-Liu, WAB’s Head of High School Counseling, for her election as president of the International Association for College Admission Counseling (International ACAC).

The International ACAC brings together counselors, college admissions and financial aid officers, enrollment managers, and other organizations from around the globe with the shared goal of serving students on their pathway from high school to university.

With more than 3,500 members and a presence in 105 countries, the organization has partnerships with 790 high schools, 683 colleges and universities, and 284 independent organizations.

“This President-elect role is a great recognition of both Michelle’s and the WAB High School Counseling Department's work and engagement," Head of School Marta Medved-Krajnovic said. "It shows our long-standing and close connection with the world of education post-WAB, and it will assure that we remain at the source of information that can support our students’ current and future educational journey. We are also looking forward to the future development of International ACAC to which we are sure Michelle’s presidency will contribute.”

Michelle brings expertise and experience from her 12 years in counseling to the presidential role. During her career, Michelle and the Counseling Team have built relationships to support hundreds of WAB students seeking admission to the world’s most specialized and prestigious university programs.

"As president-elect, I look forward to building and reinforcing the WAB community's relationships with university counseling professionals and university representatives around the globe,” Michelle said. “I am excited to enhance our team's learning through stronger connections in this international network of professionals to better serve students and families from WAB and around the world.”

During her three year commitment, Michelle will prioritize bringing diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice to the forefront of her work with International ACAC. She aims to increase membership and engagement to strengthen the group’s ability to achieve its student-centered mission of service.
