WAB Community Delivers Joy with Holiday Gift Donations

Children at an orphanage in Beijing received a mountain of gifts this holiday season from the WAB community.

WAB staff and students started off their winter break with a trip to Anding Zhixing Borui Children Recovery Foster Center, delivering toys and clothing to 44 children. The donations were the result of a community-wide toy drive and a collective effort to wrap each with gift with recycled paper.

“This is a wonderful way for members of our community to bring joy and make an impact right here in our local community,” Elementary School Principal Catherine Pierre-Louis said. “Especially at a time when many of us will not be traveling during the holidays, the toy drive is chance for us to come together and do something positive for others.”

A big thanks goes to all of the students, parents, staff, and teachers who contributed gifts to the so-called “toy mountain.”

The WAB community has a long history of living its mission to make a difference in our local and global communities. The school is working on organizing more events focused on giving back to the community in a variety of ways that are compliant with health and safety protocols related to COVID-19.
