WAB Celebrates Successful Re-Accreditation & Re-Authorization

As a leading international school, WAB has engaged with the cutting-edge re-accreditation and re-authorization processes with our partner agencies - the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB), New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and the Council of International Schools (CIS). WAB successfully took on the challenge of two new pathways to re-accreditation that provided a holistic, improvement-focused view of the school’s key priorities.

The IB-NEASC Collaborative Learning Protocol (CLP) allowed us to reflect and inquire into the impacts of innovations in learning and wellbeing, focusing on areas such as our innovative uses of space and time, student agency, learning communities, and evidence of learning.

The CIS Deep Dive into Global Citizenship & Intercultural Learning allowed us to focus on initiatives related to Strategy 2022+, including I-DEAS, Sustainability, Learning Inclusion and Global Citizenship.

We have now received re-accreditation and re-authorization reports which show that WAB has met and exceeded the agencies’ expectations for high-quality international education, and our continued partnership with them will help us shape our future goals and priorities.

"This was an ambitious process, and we are proud of our community's energy and positivity and the very warm welcomes that our visiting team received," said Stephen Taylor, WAB's Director of Innovation in Learning & Teaching. He highlighted "Our partnership with the agencies is an important part of our work as a school, and it is a privilege to share the great things that are happening across our community, as well as reflect on how to improve further."

There is much to celebrate from the outcomes of the reports, as well as recommendations and guidance to help us continue to improve in our chosen areas of focus. Over the coming months, we will follow up with stories to unpack celebrations and recommendations related to our ongoing projects.

WAB's Head of School Dr. Marta Medved Krajnovic expressed, "We are extremely proud of the feedback and comments received. This result is a reflection of our whole community's commitment to deep and purposeful learning and living." Marta further said, "We are fully confident that we will continue developing and improving as this very special learning community, and we are excited to embark on that journey as students, teachers, staff, leaders, parents - all together."
