How Day 9 Enhances Individual Learning

In Middle and High School, WAB students take part in Day 9, a day when students have an opportunity to self-direct their learning, allowing them to sign up to a wide range of workshops to explore interests, join clubs, build skills, or just catch up on homework. As the name suggests, this happens every ninth school day.

Unique to WAB, Day 9 is now in its fourth year and has proven to be an effective tool in empowering student-directed learning. One student who has been part of Day 9 from the very beginning is Stella from Grade 12. In our latest podcast episode, Stella discusses her journey with Day 9, how it evolved from Middle School to High School and the opportunities it has given her to take on leadership roles in numerous student clubs while still having enough time to stay on top of academics.

We also speak to WAB’s new MYP Co-ordinator Coach Jason Reagin to find out what excites him about Day 9 and his role in bridging Day 9 between the Middle School and High School.

Make sure to tune in to this week’s episode! More information on Day 9 can also be found in our previous podcasts and website.
