Help WAB Donate a Mountain of Toys this Holiday Season

The WAB community is building a mountain of toys as a way to spread joy and happiness in our local community.

Students, parents, and teachers are invited to donate to the Toy Mountain Drive from now until December 13. Contributions of new and gently used toys and clothes, as well as non-perishable food items, will benefit the Anding Zhixing Borui Children Recovery Foster Center, which houses 44 orphans aged 4-21 with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Drop-off locations are located in each school section.

“This is a wonderful way for members of our community to bring joy and make an impact right here in our local community,” Elementary School Principal Catherine Pierre-Louis said. “Especially at a time when many of us will not be travelling during the holidays, the toy drive is chance for us to come together and do something positive for others.”

Beginning on December 13, students and teachers in each school section will have the opportunity to volunteer to wrap gifts at lunch times and throughout the school day while enjoying holiday treats and tunes. A group of WAB students and teachers will visit the orphanage to deliver the gifts on December 17.

Keep an eye out for more school-organized community engagement events coming to the calendar soon.
