ES Musical Moves it in Madagascar Jr

ES Musical Moves it in Madagascar Jr

WAB's Elementary School (ES) students recently showcased their passion for stagecraft in an energetic performance of “Madagascar Jr.”

The production brought the popular story of the original “Madagascar” movie to life. From self-discovery to wild escapades, the young performers made the characters their own, telling the story of friendship, adventure, and laughter.

Directed by ES teacher Jovita Yenata and produced by ES Performing Arts teacher Brandon Di Tieri, this show was all about student-centered collaboration.

Brandon expressed his excitement about the students sharing their stories and learning experiences with the audience. He stated this production was a true collaboration, co-created with the students themselves. Their artistic expression and leadership shone brightly on stage.

Jovita shared she was thrilled to be a part of bringing this beloved story to life on stage. By working closely with the cast and crew, she witnessed the hard work and dedication that our ES students have put in. "It's going to be an unforgettable journey for all involved," said Jovita.

During the musical, our ES performers showcased 15 songs, including "Best Friends", "Relax, Be Cool, Chill Out", and "Living in Paradise". The last song "I Like to Move It" brought the entire audience to their feet and made the performance memorable for everyone involved.
