Congratulations! WAB Honors Class of 2021 Graduates

Congratulations to WAB’s Class of 2021 graduates!

Sunshine and blue skies set the scene for a special outdoor graduation ceremony on the WAB campus. Students received their diplomas and a traditional bronze medallion with Chinese characters symbolizing wisdom. The hybrid ceremony, which included graduates on campus and online, was streamed live around the globe.

WAB Head of School Dr. Marta Medved Krajnovic was among those who addressed the graduates on Saturday.

“For us educators every generation of graduates has a special something that stands out and that makes us remember them not only as individuals, but as a distinct group. The class of 2021 was such a passionate, fun, diverse and impressive group of young people to have around. WAB will also remember them as a very mature, connected and kind generation that supported each other and helped each other grow and become the best of their selves. We feel that Class of 2021 is ready to fully spread their wings, embrace the world, and make a difference beyond the WAB walls.”

On Monday, WAB continued its long-standing tradition of honoring the graduates at the Confucius Temple. The temple is one of the world’s most historic places of learning, and WAB was delighted to welcome graduate families to a confirmation ceremony at the temple, which ended with the iconic rose toss.

WAB’s 2021 graduates are set to attend some of the most prestigious and specialized university programs around the globe. You can take a look at their university acceptances here.

“The WAB Class of 2021 is an incredibly talented group of scientists, artists, athletes, thinkers, and dreamers who collectively have come through their last and most difficult years of school with a wide and diverse array of futures in front of them,” Counselors Ben O’Brien and Natasha Tavares said. “As their counselors, we have seen them rise to the challenges of university admissions in a pandemic and manage to stay on top of the uncertainties the world presents. They are strong and resilient individuals who have each left their own mark on WAB, and we have no doubt will continue to do so  in the future.”
