WAB Alumni Share Music & Journeys in New DSS Series

WAB Alumni Share Music & Journeys in New DSS Series

WABbies around the world came together Monday evening for a conversation with four alumni who are pursuing careers in music.

The event marked the launch of the “alumni remix” of WAB’s Distinguished Speaker Series, which welcomes inspiring and thought-provoking guests to speak with the community. In the first edition, the four alumni students, who attended WAB between 2006 and 2019, shared challenges, successes, and inspirations of their musical journeys.

“I hoped that sharing my music and story could inspire others to explore their own creativity,” WAB Class of 2015 graduate Michelle Mouw said. “It’s always so nice to be able to connect with other WAB alumni. I felt such pride and inspiration in seeing other WABbies succeed and follow their passions.”

WAB’s alumni network continues to grow, and while our network spans nearly every corner of the globe, their connections to the school community remain strong.

While the world changes at an increasingly rapid pace, the WAB culture remains the same.

“Alumni are one of our most powerful connections with the world. An engaged alumni network allows our students to benefit from the skills and experience of our graduates by offering their support,” WAB’s Alumni Officer Kun Jiao, who has been at WAB as a staff member and parent for more than 20 years, said. “Our students and graduates are the essence of the WAB spirit. They are the symbol of what WAB was, what WAB is, and what WAB will be.”

The entire recording of the event, including the conversation and music samples, is available to watch now on TigerTube. Make sure to join the WAB Alumni Network and follow WAB Alumni us on Facebook to stay connected, and, of course, keep an eye out for future DSS Alumni Series events coming soon.
