Where are you from?
That's a hard question to answer. I was born in Xi'an China but went to a few years of Elementary School in Vancouver, Canada. I've also lived in Guangzhou for three years during Middle School. However, for the most part I've lived in Beijing and Beijing is the place I primarily consider to be my hometown.
When did you attend WAB? When did you graduate?
I attended WAB from grade 9 to grade 12, from 2010 to 2014. I graduated on May 31st, 2014.
Where are you now? What are you studying/working on?
I'm currently studying English and Economics at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.
How did WAB influence your career choice, if any?
The English and Economic classes I took at WAB throughout High School are what inspired me to pursue these subjects in College for my majors, and hopefully also beyond College for graduate school and my career.
What are your best memories of WAB?
Too many to list! I enjoyed my classes and spending time with my friends, and I enjoyed being part of the student organizations I was in, including Model UN, World Scholars Cup, Student Council and Student Ambassadors Club amongst others. I enjoyed running on the Cross Country team because that was really a challenge for me. I enjoyed speaking at WAB's first TEDx Youth Conference.
What is your advice for current seniors?
Stay organized - keep a running to-do list and check off tasks you've completed. Try to be calm when things get tough. It's really hard and I won't pretend I did a terrific job of this. Just believe in yourself and believe that everything will be alright when things get overwhelming. Also, make sure you are having fun and making the most of your last year at WAB!
